**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Student Financial Services Manager, the Student Financial Service Representative (SFS Representative) is a multi-incumbent role within Student Financial Services (SFS) responsible for providing SFS services and support to students. The SFS Representatives are required to have comprehensive knowledge of the various funding streams available for students, and the ability to understand and explain the related policies, guidelines and processes. This role also supports the SFS Records Coordinator, SFS Special Bursary Officer, and SFS Officers as needed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research, review and possess the knowledge of all available student financial aid services and products federally, provincially and at the College to support student success by ensuring student have access to all available financial educational resources.
- Maintains the highest level of customer service while working within the strictest confines of confidentiality to secure student’s, spouses and parents personal, private information with respect to Ontario Student Assistance Program and College policies and government Freedom of Information regulations.
- Expertise in data entry One-key and College Banner/Aid to make adjustments to student OSAP and other financial records
- Provides quality in-person front line advising, disbursements and general service to students in accordance with their eligibility needs and expectation as a backup to other Student Financial Services staff due to illness, vacation, etc.
- Receiving and analyzing for error a variety of OSAP student transactions
- Functionally literate utilizing, Ontario Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators List-serve, Ministry of Colleges and Universities Institutional Website, Ministry of Colleges And Universities policy and procedures and College Banner/Aid, myCentennial, Intranet, internet, to all data access, entry, retrieval, update, review as required
- Electronically confirms enrolment for Full and part-time OSAP funding.
- Provides support to MCU OSAP and OSAP Bursary Inspections as required
- Filing and other duties as assigned
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Two (2) year diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Studies or Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant administrative experience in an office or post-secondary environment
- Expert knowledge of Ontario Student Assistance Program assessment and appeals circumstances
- Expertise with computer and database systems, including ONE-Key, AS400, Banner student information systems, Word, Access, Power Point, Excel, etc.
- Proven ability to comprehend complex Ministry policies and guidelines, to optimize students funding opportunities through analysis and assessment of individual student needs.
- Highly organised with ability to manage competing priority deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and resolve complex issues related to data, processes, and information
- Proven ability to maintain the strictest confidence regarding student data (in accordance with college policies and procedures and with the Ontario’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act), and commitment to protecting the security of information systems access codes.
- Ability to interact and communicate respectfully in a diverse environment, and deal effectively with conflict.
