**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**:
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Continuous Improvement Specialist will analyze processes and implement changes where improvements will optimize the organizational performance. They will work with the Manufacturing Engineering and Operations departments and work on related projects as assigned.
**Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction while identifying obstacles and ways to overcome them through continuous improvement.
- Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools including teaching, guiding, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
- Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions and departments.
- Resolving technical problems such as formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, and resource availability
- Involved in planning, scheduling, and implementing continuous improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S, SIM (Short Interval Management), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) on the production floor within the manufacturing facility.
- Working hands-on with production teams to better understand processes, with an empathetic approach and ensure that implemented Lean principles are being understood.
- Evaluating and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains, required effort and ROI.
- Establishing a clear and well-articulated implementation plan including establishing criteria for the project’s success and preparing a summary of constraints/limiting factors/impact/feasibility
- Appropriately implementing principles of governance
- Regularly monitoring (through Gemba and Data) the implementation of solutions to achieve objectives and expected benefits.
- Reading and analyzing data on current processes, and using math skills to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and bar graphs.
- Interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure instructions.
- Leading Kaizen events, providing employees in a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) role with information regarding scheduled Kaizen events/results, lean manufacturing training, etc.
