We are a busy Eye Clinic in Richmond Hill with ophthalmologist and optometrists. We are looking for a kind-hearted, energetic team player who is ready to provide excellent patient care of all ages.

**The successful applicant will need to have the following skill set**:

- Able to multi-task and work in a high paced environment; be flexible with hours (some late day finish times & occasional Saturdays) and be able to adapt to changes with new technologies and information.
- Be professional, polite and attentive while being accurate.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (any 2nd language is an asset) and be able to communicate effectively & compassionately with patients.
- Above average to excellent computer knowledge and typing skills

**Responsibilities include**:

- Returning and triaging phone calls to patients and other health care providers in timely manner.
- Scheduling appointments; accurately documenting & attaching patient information on electronic medical records (EMR) (in our office, Telus PSS); billing & payment transactions.
- Obtain patient history, pre-testing, and ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields) for patients
- Frame selections, dispensing, and minor frame repairs, order preparations
- Patient education, surgical bookings, courtesy calls
- General daily cleaning of office

**Remuneration**: will be based on experience. Hourly rate

**Job Type**: full time, Permanent

**Experience required**:
Previous Administrative assistant experience/ optometry clinic/ medical clinic experience is an asset.

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients and staff are required to wear a surgical loop mask.
Plexiglass shields are in place at the front reception desk.
Patients are prescreened for Covid symptoms/ risks online or by phone when confirming appointments.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical office experience: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
