**Responsibilities**:

- Support resilient habitat outcomes through spatial stewardship and protections in large scale ecosystems in WWF Canada priority geographies, with a focus on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis leadership and priorities.
- Assist the implementation of conservation benefits mechanism that support the enhancement of biodiversity and carbon stored in nature.
- Build and maintain critical knowledge on local and national policy directions affecting WWF-Canada’s priority areas as it relates to marine and terrestrial conservation.
- May assist associate specialists and coordinators.

**Qualifications**:

- At least 4 years of relevant experience **_OR _**a combination of a related post-secondary education and 2+ years of relevant work experience in terrestrial and marine conservation topics, including but not limited to Indigenous-led conservation (e.g., wildlife and/or land monitoring experience, community protocols, guardians), marine and terrestrial protected areas, OECMS and IPCAs.
- Experience about designing, planning, stewardship and implementation of protections of lands and waters.
- Knowledge about Indigenous culture and protocols, and ability to work in an ethical space where different worldviews and knowledge systems interact with mutual respect, kindness, and generosity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the capability to engage a range of audiences and adapt communication styles to multiple cultural environments (e.g., communication when following Elder protocols or cultural safety protocols).
- Ability to manage database and strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Project coordination/management experience is an additional asset.

This role may require safe travel. Safe travel will be determined by following International, Federal, Territorial, and Provincial requirements and following consultation with local and Indigenous communities where applicable.

This position can work from any WWF-Canada office.
