**Head Market Access & Government Affairs**

Reporting to the President and CEO of Bayer Inc., as a member of the Pharmaceutical Leadership team, our Head of Market Access & Government Affairs is accountable for setting the vision, direction and objectives of the Market Access and Government Affairs department to maximize value, effectiveness, and impact. In this role, you are responsible for optimizing market access of Bayer’s pharmaceutical portfolio, and this includes leading the development and execution of market access strategies (pricing, HTA, and value dossier development) and tactics for all marketed and pipeline Bayer Canada Pharmaceuticals products through public and private reimbursement, strategic pricing, and contract management. As a leader, you are accountable for overseeing the development of provincial, federal and private payer outreach and achievement of optimized patient access through development of net pricing strategy, patient access schemes and management of pan-Canadian pharmaceutical alliance (PCPA). Ensuring compliance with Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) policies and regulations, and providing strategic guidance on hospital, institutional and group purchasing organization contracts, RFPs and tenders. Responsible and accountable for patient support programs. Acts as Senior advisor on all market access and healthcare policy and issues, and as such, is responsible for monitoring and shaping the Canadian healthcare delivery and market access environment, Bayer global and local product development and health technology assessment programs to ensure optimal market access and value in Canada.

**What you will do**:

- Direct the development and implementation of public policy, which includes lobbying activities, monitoring, analyzing and recommending actions on all pertinent challenges and opportunities within the federal and provincial public policy arena that could impact Bayer Inc.
- Participates in the development of and supervises the preparation of corporate white papers and supportive documentation.
- Speaks for Bayer Inc. on patient access topics at the federal and provincial levels. Represents Bayer Inc. as the senior liaison on prominent industry-wide committees and particular initiatives that have strategic significance to the Company. Lead influence and outreach strategies to drive positive change in the external Canadian market access, HTA assessment and pricing political and technical environment
- (CDR, PMPRB).
- Drive and shape local and global processes and decision making for launch and in-market products (e.g. clinical development and regulatory plans, target product labeling, KOL development, forecasting, and brand planning) to maximize success and business impact of Canadian market access, product growth and brand defense strategies.
- Oversee patient support programs function
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to Market Access and Government Affairs team to maximize employee engagement, professional growth and departmental impact.
- Ensure compliance to external regulations and internal policies related to pricing, contracting and code of business practices.
- Manage budget of the Market Access and Government Affairs department.
- Optimal reimbursement, pricing and patient access are the most important enablers for the successful launch of a healthcare product in Canada. Best possible reimbursement at time of launch and throughout the life cycle of a product drive top-line results of Bayer products and services.
- Accountable for achieving these objectives through the creation and execution of superior, innovative and long-term strategies and tactics for optimal pricing, reimbursement and patient access for the entire product portfolio for the Bayer Pharmaceuticals division.
- In a timely manner, identifying, convening, and directing the appropriate Cross-Divisional and Cross-Functional Management Teams to assess and respond promptly to market access initiatives, contract responses, legislation and regulations is a critical aspect of the job.
- Accountable for people management, enforcing LIFE behaviours, and creating continuous growth and development opportunities for the Market Access and Government Affairs team
