**Role Responsibilities**:
The Public Service Commission has an exciting opportunity for a strategic communicator who will help to communicate various programs and policies throughout the Alberta Public Service.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Alberta Public Service Communications, you will:

- Draft and edit communications materials and strategies for Executive Leadership.
- Develop, implement and monitor communication strategies for internal and external audiences.
- Provide strategic communications planning and consulting.
- Help to maintain and update project and issues calendars, working with program areas to map out and confirm critical paths or communication plans, and plan for product development and approvals.
- Participate in department and cross-department committees as needed in a communications role.

**Provide effective proactive issues management support.**

Create risk assessments for Employee Engagement, Employee Resource Groups and upcoming APS-wide events or activities.

Develop effective and timely strategies including crafting key messages and other communication products to proactively address and deal with issues.

Use strategic communications planning and media relations skills to effectively support government priorities, policies and legislation under the responsibility of the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Provide strategic writing support on complex and/or sensitive materials for internal and external audiences.

**Responsible for event management for APS events.**
- Manage projects, timelines, strategy, budget and evaluations.
- Organize logistics, including venue, presentation materials, multimedia, collateral materials, catering services and media relations.
