**Summary**:
DMC is currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join our team on a contract basis, based in our Sudbury, ON location. The Mechanical Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning and scheduling all of the mechanical work required for the operations, including developing scope of work, planning manpower and material requirements and creating estimates for job completion. The Mechanical Planner must ensure that productivity and safety are not compromised by properly planning and scheduling work, to meet client expectations, adhering to legislative requirements and standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for planning, developing, and implementing schedules for mechanical maintenance activities, communicating plans/schedules with workers and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with agreed upon planning procedures, standards, testing documentation and to ensure maintenance practices are continuously improving.
- Issue work orders in accordance with maintenance requirements and resource availability
- Run the weekly committed schedule.
- Close all work orders that have been completed.
- Create work orders from deficiencies noted from scheduled work & inspections.
- Schedule all repairs to ensure main assets are reliable.
- All third parts reports, NDT, Rope EM Test, Rope certificates, conveyance certificates must be posted and filed in a location readily available to all when required from the MOL or Auditors.
- Source parts from vendors and suppliers and ensure parts availability for all mechanical jobs.
- Assign work to subcontractors to complete jobs and ensure they comply with all safety standards.
- Improve reliability in the plant through preventative maintenance.
- Facilitate mine-wide planning meetings to ensure all work is communicated across departments, contractors etc.
- Participate in regular client and internal meetings to establish priorities, discuss maintenance problems, scheduling, and progress updates.
- Assist Safety Department with completing hazard and risk assessments to identify and try to eliminate hazards, mitigate risk, and maintain worker safety.
- Assume duties of the Maintenance Superintendent as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Superintendent
- Ensure all hoist & rope record logbooks are updated.
- Will be the lead for all JHA’s and procedures that are required for planned work.
- Must provide planned work packages as per his weekly plan.
- Work collectively with other planners to ensure synergies are taken advantage of.
- Work collectively with other planners to identify conflicts with multiple work groups.
- Knowledge of TSSA requirements
- Must be available to provide all documentation for the MOL and any third-party Auditors.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Red Seal Trade Certification (Millwright) or (HDET)
- Underground Common Core certification
- Project Management training is considered an asset
- Working at heights training is considered an asset

**Experience**
- 5-10 years of field experience
- Previous work experience in a maintenance planning role or similar

Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge and understanding of mining processes
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced environment
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks to meet short and long-term objectives while using organized and efficient work methods
- Committed to best practices in health and safety management
- Must be able to read prints and schematics both Mechanical & Hydraulics, Electrical would be an asset.
- Proficiency with computers (MS Project, Excel, ViewPoint, Nitropro)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Mines hoist Training modules
- Hoisting, crushers, loading pockets, rigging, knowledge of hoist ropes, pumps & pumping, cranes.

**Working conditions**
The Mechanical Maintenance Planner will work regular site hours in an office environment and will be required to go underground at least twice per week. Exposure to hazards such as heat, dust etc. is limited due to mínimal work underground.

**Physical demands**
This position requires the following physical demands:

- Must be able to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) to work underground

- Communicate effectively across all departments
