**Social Enterprise Developer/Project Supervisor**

VALID supports the growth and success of our community based social enterprises. Each of our current operations seek to fund employment opportunities for the individuals with disabilities we support.

**Position Description**

We are seeking a personable, knowledgeable communicator to work within our social enterprises to create new opportunities and expand and enhance current offerings. The successful applicant will play a vital role in the delivery of front end and first contact training, consulting and other community development products and services. The role will also include monitoring and evaluating the success of projects, and adjusting or improving on technique and process to ensure better outcomes of future projects.

**Facilitation**
- Works with the Executive Director and other staff, as required, to deliver sustainable social enterprise results
- Responsible for oversight and management of our Pot o Gold Thrift Store, vending, cleaning and other social enterprise operations
- Responsible for working within project plan budgets and time constraints
- Responsible for achieving deliverables within allotted timeframes
- Develop marketing and communication plans to promote social enterprise initiatives
- Create compelling content for social media, our website and newsletters
- Collaborate with partners to develop joint initiatives and leverage resources
- Responsible for working within project plan budgets and time constraints

**Client Development**
- Works as part of the development team to provide appropriate and timely support to the organization and the individuals we support to create social impact in their communities through enterprise
- Helps individuals and the organization move through the business creation and growth continuum by providing support using a client focused development model
- Supports individuals and staff to develop timelines and activity plans to grow their organization’s enterprise activities and social impact
- Project management to ensure milestones are met or plans adjusted as necessary, in consultation with client, while tightly controlling time use and scope of project

**Communication**
- Communicates the VALID brand accurately, positively and inspirationally to the community

This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of an inventory of small businesses and work on the leading edge of the emerging field of social enterprise. This person will report to the Executive Director.

**Required Skills and Capabilities**

**We are seeking a unique individual who ideally possess**:

- A background in retail management, business administration, social sciences or a related field
- Proven experience in managing social enterprise initiatives or related projects
- Business planning and feasibility study experience
- Strong understanding of social enterprise concepts, business models and impact measurements as it relates to non-profit organizations
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while staying within budget
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about community development and social enterprise
- Facilitation and coaching skills
- Anxious to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities
- Self starter
- Understanding of the importance of life-long learning
- Non-profit background, community engagement and leadership experience considered assets
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle

**Office Location and Lifestyle**

Applicants should be prepared to live and work in Vegreville, AB. Hours of work are 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend work required.

**Compensation**

This is a permanent full-time position. Compensation includes a wage of $20.00 per hour, co-paid group plan benefits and matching RRSP/TFSA plan. Compensation also includes 3 weeks of vacation upon completion of one year of service, paid sick leave and personal wellness days.

Expected hours: 37.5 - 44 per week
