If you are confident, outgoing, work independently, love to travel (sorry.. just within the province), work with people of all ages and demographics, and work well with a small team, then you should keep reading. If you are an experienced, registered social worker in good standing (and current registration with the ACSW), with a minimum of 5 years experience, BSW or MSW, passionate about families, and, more importantly, support adoption, you should keep reading

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): human resources and financial management, community relationships, program development and delivery, strategic direction, and agency/services promotion. This also includes direct and indirect client contact; community liaison; presenting educational seminars; interviewing, writing and reviewing home assessment reports using the SAFE model; and working with vulnerable people exploring open adoption for their child(ren). This includes helping to make an adoption plan and providing support. We assist families with all types of adoption.

Travel may be necessary; therefore, having a reliable vehicle is a must. Being able to work evenings and weekends is important as the vulnerable population often requires us to work after usual work hours. Having good computer skills is essential. Only qualified persons will be contacted and those who meet our criteria will be provided with remuneration information.

This is very rewarding work where the phrase “wearing multiple hats” could not be truer. This position is requires deep passion for women choosing adoption for their children and working with families who want to adopt. It requires a strong person who can multi-task and manage the organization while ensuring professional boundaries and self-care.

This is a challenging role that requires full commitment and is often difficult due to the nature of the irregular hours that follow unscheduled births and crisis work (to name a few). If this scares you, do not apply. If you do not work well with others and are not a team player, do not apply.
