1. iAM program: an award-winning arts and social justice training program offered to 300+ equity-seeking youth in the GTA each year

2. Last Tuesdays: a free, virtual arts/human rights event offered on the last Tuesday of every month.

3. Human Rights Film Festival (HRFF+): Our annual Human Rights Film Festival is a multi-day event that celebrates the intersection of the arts and human rights, taking place each year in December during International Human Rights Month

4. The Hum Podcast: A weekly podcast that cuts straight to the heart of human rights stories. Raw, honest and uncensored, from the people who have lived them first-hand. Available on iTunes and Spotify

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE**

The Manager, Grants and Foundations creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fund development including:

- grant writing including all three levels of government, corporate, and foundations
- researching prospective funders, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and reporting
- strengthening our community by maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders in corporations, foundations and government

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Fund development_
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Managing Director to create a fund development plan which increases revenue to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Steward relationships with funders
- Identify individual prospects for the organization's grant writing priorities
- Support the Executive Director and Managing Director with creating pitch proposals / decks for prospective funders when necessary
- Ensure that all approaches to the corporate sector are tracked consistently, through effective use of a CRM system and tracking spreadsheet.
- Support major events including the annual Human Rights Film Festival and iAM Exhibitions
- Oversee research of funding sources and trends
- Evaluate and report regularly on the progress of the development program
- Build and maintain strong external relationships with potential sponsors, corporate partners, and supporters, through securing and leading new business meetings, and maintaining strong relationships
- Write high quality external communications documents, including sponsorship marketing materials as required.
- Attend weekly Development Team meetings and provide regular reports/updates
- Arrange, conduct and coordinate cultivation, stewardship and recognition activities such as on-site signage, recognition in publications and on-site visits for corporate sponsors and donors.
- Manage fund development budget_
- Develop and gain approval for an annual income and expenditure budget for the fund development program in collaboration with the Executive Director and Managing Director
- Prepare regular reports on progress, budgets, receipts and expenditure related to the management of the fund development activities
- Monitor expenses and analyze budget reports on fund development and recommend changes as necessary
- Steward key stakeholders in corporate, foundations, and government_
- Maintaining and growing relationships with key stakeholders in corporate, foundations and government by engaging them frequently throughout the year
- Ensuring key stakeholders are invited to marquee events throughout the year such as our annual Human Rights Film Festival and iAM Exhibitions and working as a point person by welcoming and introducing them to others on the team including the Executive Director
- Promote the organization_
- Foster an understanding of philanthropy within the organization
- Develop a comprehensive communication plan to promote the organization to its donors and maximize public awareness of the fund development activities of the organization
- Coordinate with the Executive Director and Managing Director on the design, printing and distribution of marketing and communication materials for development efforts
- Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission, grant writing, and fundraising goals of the organization

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Education / Experience_
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience and success in securing small, medium, and large grants from government, corporations, and foundations as well as coordinating or managing a fundraising program
- Bachelor's degree and/or a certificate in Grant Writing or Fundraising Management an asset
- Professional designation as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset
- Knowledge, skills and abilities_
- Knowledge of fundraising and grant writing management
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation affecting charities
- Knowledge of special events planning and management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
