**Grant Writer - Full Time (1 Year Contract)**

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grant Writer will secure funding to support the initiatives of Street Haven. The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to various funding organizations. Working collaboratively with the Employment Coach and Employment Outreach Advisor, this role is also responsible for managing client intake processes, engaging with the community, and developing policies for clients that guide our programs. You will ensure compliance with all grant requirements and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Street Haven’s programs and funding needs. By effectively communicating our mission, you will help ensure the sustainability and growth of Street Haven. This position is a full time one year contract position, working directly for the Inclusion of Women in the Workplace program.

**As the Grant Writer, you will**:

- Research, identify, and prioritize potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations
- Maintain a calendar of submissions and reporting deadlines and provide regular updates to the leadership team on grant activities
- Assist with maintaining relationships with current funders and stakeholders through effective communication
- Assemble all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories, etc. to submit to funders
- Liaise and collate information from among Street Haven team to identify potential grant proposals and grant funding needs for programs.
- Develop, collate and report on program and grant-related performance metrics.
- The grant writer will also support program development and monitoring work including:
○ Draft policies and procedures based on best practices, incorporating feedback from focus groups and internal stakeholders

○ Complete intake forms for new clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness

○ Participate at community tables to promote the program and recruit participants

○ Coordinate and facilitate focus groups for clients to gather insights and feedback

○ Conduct referrals for clients whose needs do not align with our program offerings, ensuring they relate to appropriate services

○ Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing in the non-profit sector
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Proven track record of successful grant awards and securing funding from a variety of sources
- Ability to remain organized and accurate in a dynamic fast-paced environment with frequently competing demands and priorities
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and information
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team on projects and team priorities
- Ability to identify issues and gaps and propose solutions
- Budget planning and financial management skills
- Strong computer skills and experience working with grant management software preferred
- Passion for the mission and goals of Street Haven

**Where we work**

This role is based in Downtown Toronto and requires working in-office 5 days a week, 40 hours weekly.

**Salary**

Commensurate with experience.
