**The**Role**

The Foundation’s Grants and Operations Manager reports to the Director of Granting and works closely with this individual, the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and the Operations Manager to ensure that the administrative and discretionary grant management needs of the Foundation are being met.

The Grants and Operations Manager will oversee a team of two to ensure:

- The Foundation’s $15M discretionary grant portfolios are responsibly and strategically managed, with updates provided to Directors and Grantees at regular junctures.
- Effective payment processes are in place to efficiently facilitate work across the Foundation.

The actual duties and responsibilities, position, title and reporting relationship of the Grants and Operations Manager may be changed by the Foundation from time to time to meet its evolving business needs.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

**Key**Responsibilities**

**_ Operations_**
- Ensure the Foundation office is appropriately supplied.
- Oversee the payment processes for donations and expenses.
- Coordinate monthly Lunch & Learns for the Foundation team.
- Contribute to driving operations priorities (e.g. Operations team meetings, retreat content, strategy, etc.).
- Manage additional special operations projects as required.

**_ Grants _**_Management_**
- Manage and execute the Foundation’s $15M discretionary grant portfolio with the highest degree of rigour, due diligence, and foresight.
- Ensure updates are provided to Directors, Grantees, and team members at regular junctures.
- Manage four sub-portfolios of grants, ensuring that all documentation is recorded in SmartSimple (the Foundation’s database) and due diligence is being observed.
- _ Executive Grants_: Conduct reviews on funding requests and prepare grant proposals, timelines, milestones, and approval request materials for necessary Board review.
- _ Emergency Response Funding_: Research and champion opportunities for Foundation support in strategic initiatives responding to disaster situations. Launch and execute calls for proposals (and associated reviews), prepare grant proposals, timelines, milestones, and approval request materials for necessary Board review.
- _ Director & Matching Grants_: Ensure the Coordinator is well equipped to manage this portfolio by making sure that proper processes are in place and followed, including grantee communications, Director engagement and tracking in SmartSimple, and proper documentation is presented on Diligent (the Foundation’s Board Book platform).
- _ Education Committee Grants:_ Manage the sunsetted Education portfolio ensuring reports are provided to appropriate Directors and endowments continue to be managed responsibly.
