Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resource Advisor, the Human Resource Administrator will work within the Athletics and Recreation HR unit, supporting various units and employees. Act as a resource on HR issues and participate in various HR functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Act as a resource person for the human resources functions for the Athletics and Recreation unit, supporting approximately 80 full -time staff and 600 casual employees. Provide information on a variety of human resource activities including staffing, salary administration, benefits, employee relations, payroll, and organizational development.
- Assist with the preparation of human resources related requests. Gather relevant documentation for HR colleagues.
- Conduct onboarding for new employees and provide training on Workday or other related HR policies and procedures.
- Perform full cycle recruitment process including preparing postings, interviews, references, offers and conduct background checks and verify completion.
- Assist supervisors with activities related to recruitment and disciplinary matters.
- Create job descriptions for new and updated positions.
- Using Workday produce offer letters. Produce other documents pertaining to employee files.
- Verify and process various business processes in Workday.
- Conduct disciplinary meetings for AMUSE employees.
- Support the HR Advisor in preliminary investigations of labour relation cases by gathering information and documentation as required.
- Monitor and follow-up on probationary and trial periods, and other documentation. Notify supervisors of probationary period dates.
- Oversee and ensure casual payroll is entered and processed in Workday. Act as Absence Partner in Workday and investigate pay discrepancies.
- Maintain a grievance database and compile statistical data required for various reports. Contact units for background information pertaining to grievances and disputes.
- Coordinate employee records, forms, documentation, etc. Ensure accurate electronic employee files.
- Analyze absenteeism rates and produce reports.
- Oversee immigration work permit status and ensure compliance.
- In collaboration with HR team, process leaves including STD, LTD, CNESST, Maternity, etc.
- Liaise with internal units and external organizations, including government officials.
- Assess and resolve administrative problems. When appropriate, inform supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Previous recent experience in HR related functions and activities.
- Degree/Certificate/diploma in human resources management.
- Demonstrated experience using Workday.
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Previous experience working in an unionized environment and familiar with collective agreements
- Demonstrated experience doing full cycle recruitment.
- Flexible and adaptable to ever changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all facets of people and strong communication skills.
- Must be client focused and have excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated time management skills, organizational skills with a proven ability to oversee multiple tasks within specific deadlines.
- Result oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively plan and review work and collaborate with others.
- Proficient with various programs including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, TEAMS, WEBEX etc.
- Bilingual (English and French)
