**About Us**:
The University Advancement division plays a leading role in strengthening awareness of and support for the University’s mission and goals by leading alumni relations and fundraising efforts across campus and beyond. All departments within the Division build enduring alumni and public trust through understanding and support for Western University in a coordinated campus-wide effort that results in the engagement and funding needed to make an impact. There are 3 departments within the Division - Departments of Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement Operations.

The Advancement Operations department is a partner in the University Advancement division in the areas of constituent database and technology services, prospect management, research and pipeline, data analytics and storytelling, gift and pledge management, records and document management, and financial reconciliation and reporting. In addition, we provide support to the annual planning process as well as budget management, human resources and facilities support for University Advancement.

An integral part of Advancement Operations, the People & Culture portfolio works in partnership with central Human Resources to address strategies related to talent acquisition and recruitment, orientation and onboarding, learning and development, performance management and employee relations, as well as employee recognition and engagement. The portfolio works to ensure the Division is committed to its mission and values.

**Responsibilities**:
With an eye to building talent pipelines that align with the strategic priorities of the Division, the Talent Specialist will work to analyze our current talent resources against our growth needs in a matrix that identifies existing potential and possible gaps. The role will stay abreast of trends and work to ensure the University Advancement team remains true to its culture and brand for increased appeal within the industry.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate Degree in organizational development, organizational behavior, human resources or related field
- Additional education or training in human resource best practices, including recruitment, training and employee development
- Certified Human Resources Leader designation is preferred
- Experience:
- 3 years' experience in a role focused on sourcing and attracting talent or related role in the advancement industry
- Experience designing and implementing organizational development projects and programs within a large, complex organization
- Kn owledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven recruitment ability in advancement-specific industry
- People-centric communication skills, with an ability to tailor communications to suit the message and audience
- Advanced active listening skills with strong networking and relationship management skills
- Ability to see beyond the immediate and into the future for planning purposes
- Demonstrated ability to successfully advise and coach leaders
- Ability to effectively drive and manage change initiatives that align with organizational strategies, and/or provide opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity
- Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, while being open to trying new ideas and working methods
- Proven ability to take initiative and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
