We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our Coughlin team in Ottawa.

Finance Manager is responsible to direct the financial affairs of the organization and to prepare financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the daily financial activities of the department payables, receivables, physical assets, treasury functions, also responsible for the Corporate operational accounting function.

**The Finance Manager will**:

- Managing the month-end accounting close process, including participating in financial review meetings and review accounting output.
- Revenue recognition in accordance with the Company’s policy
- Accounts receivable which includes timely and accurate invoicing to clients and collections
- Deferred revenue and other revenue related transactions
- Expense recognition in accordance with the company’s policy
- Accounts payable which includes timely and accurate payments to vendors and employees
- Accounts payable which includes timely capturing of invoices, accurate coding of invoices
- Monthly and quarterly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts which include prepaid expenses, accruals, inter-company balances, fixed asset & depreciation, shared capital and other month-end entries
- Fixed asset tracking and management
- Managing the internal management reporting of the company’s ability to meet its financial, strategic, and operational objectives.
- Preparing cash management and cash reporting
- Preparing monthly bank and other reconciliations
- Maintaining the General Ledger including security, chart of accounts and report development

**To be successful as a Finance Manager **with Coughlin & Associates, you will need**:

- A university degree in Accounting or Business Management or related field
- A clear understanding of financial management information, banking procedures, including experience with automated banking systems.
- A highly analytical disposition;
- The ability to successfully manage multi-functional activities, prioritize;
- The ability to balance conflicting priorities;
- Excellent problem solving skills;
- The ability to communicate effectively with all work related contacts both orally and in writing;
- Dedication to getting the job done regardless of office hours;
- Previous experience in groups benefits and/or with auditing practices is an asset.
- A combination of required education and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience in accounting, business service, and supervision are expected.
- A CGA, CA, or CMA professional designation, or working towards one of these designations;
