**Nasittuq** provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.*

Scope: *
Reporting to the President, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing financial direction to the organization.

**Responsibilities**:

- Directly supervises: Project Accountants and Accounting Supervisor. Indirectly supervises: Financial Analyst and Finance Administrator.
- Provides guidance to the Management group in the development and updating of budgets, forecasts, business plans and financial analyses.
- Ensures the production and submission of financial reports is in accordance with contractual and shareholder requirements.
- Implements and reviews policies and procedures related to general financial processing and updates where required.
- Ensures the accurate processing of transactions and production of reports from the internal information system.
- Ensures monthly financial statements and results are a fair representation of the financial standing of the organization.
- Prepares the Annual Business Plan, Forecasts and Financial Analysis.
- Liaises with the client, internal auditors, external auditors, and Shareholder organizations.
- Input into Corporate strategic planning and direction and growth.
- Performs other duties assigned by a higher authority, which are unplanned or of a transient nature that may include trips to or working at the Northern sites.

**Qualifications**:

- Education: University/post graduate degree from a recognized university with specialization in finance, accounting or business administration.
- Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior management role in an accounting or corporate accounting environment.

Desired Skills/Abilities: *
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and various government regulatory reporting requirements
- Proficient reconciliation skills with respect to General Ledger and other subsidiary ledgers;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and identify issues quickly;
- Ability to prepare and deliver documentation, complex reports and presentations in a well organized and concise manner;
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment; and
- Ability to formulate and consider multiple solutions to an issue.
- Federal Government contracting experience is considered an asset
