**Position Status**:Full-time with benefits and complementary YMCA membership

**Nature & Scope**

Reporting to the General Manager, this position provides delivery of Member retention programs and Live Well program initiatives. The Specialist is responsible for the member satisfaction related to group fitness and LiveWell programs. Ensuring safe, quality delivery of programs.

This is a full-time position and requires a flexible schedule based on programming needs. This may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends with an emphasis on group fitness delivery, program reviews, planning and administration, facility supervision, maintenance and the provision of excellent customer service.

**Responsibilities**
- Direct delivery of Live Well program initiatives (coaching sessions, intakes, program delivery, data collection, communication, program evaluation and research trails)
- Recruitment, selection, training, scheduling and evaluation of group fitness staff and volunteers
- Direct program coverage (85% of total hours) modelling service excellence in assigned program areas
- Provide leadership to fitness classes, gym-based or aquatic
- Maintain relevant certifications for all instructors
- Assist in maintaining YMCA Priority SAM standards as related to Group fitness and LiveWell programming
- Responsibility for training/mentoring of new instructors
- Department administration including monthly tracking of key performance indicators and payroll
- Responsible for Group Fitness and LiveWell staff scheduling
- Works as an active member of the Branch Leadership Team with scheduled Manager on Duty responsibilities

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science is an asset
- 2 or more years of training/post-secondary education in Physical and/or Health Education or related field along with 1+ years related work experience or a combination of both education and experience is preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field
- Current CPR, Standard First-Aid
- Provide a current Police Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening in accordance with the Association’s Human Resource Policies
- Excellent customer service skills/ interpersonal skills
- YMCA Leadership Certification in Individual Conditioning (IC 1 and 2), Group Fitness, Personal Trainer (or other recognized certifications)
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel, & Outlook
