**Community Integration Advocate (Adult Protective Service Worker) - 6 Month Contract**

The Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing is a fully accredited, non-profit organization providing professional counselling services and community programs to individuals, couples, and families. **Position**

Reporting to the Manager of Developmental Services, the Community Integration Advocate will provide advocacy, case management & support services to adults with a developmental disability who are living in the community. Availability to work one evening per week as needed. This position is a tempary full-time position for 6 months with the possibility of extention.

**Qualifications**:

- BA/BSW in the social sciences, or relevant college diploma with proven ability to advocate on behalf of people who are at various stages of cognitive ability.
- Bilingual preferred in French & English
- Demonstrated skills supporting persons and/or their family members who are challenged by a developmental disability.
- Sound knowledge of the developmental services sector, including person-directed planning, ability to demonstrate principles of anti-oppression, inclusion and advocacy within the arenas of justice, education, housing, and health are imperative qualifications.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and organisational skills related to administrative and documentation duties.
- Demonstrated collaboration with team and external service
- The use of a vehicle and a valid driver’s license in the province of

**Salary**:As per the collective agreement, BA/BSW or diploma salary grid
