Mercatto Hospitality is looking for an **EXPERIENCED RESTAURANT OPERATIONS MANAGER **at Cantina Mercatto, located in the St. Lawrence Market district, at the corner of Yonge St. and Wellington St. East.
Cantina Mercatto is currently open Monday to Saturday and will soon be opening up on Sundays and adding a lunch shift to our weekend hours of operation. We're launching a giant street-side patio in June and anticipate a busy summer ahead
We are looking for someone with robust leadership skills, strong attention to detail, exceptional guest service intuition, and the ability to build and foster relationships with our staff and guests alike.
As part of our management team, you will work closely with the GM, but must be capable of organizing and motivating a large service staff self-sufficiently while ensuring high service standards are maintained.

**Your Presence on the Floor**:
- Affable, approachable, efficient, kind, knowledgable, and most of all, hospitable. People come to you when they need answers and assuredness, be it your staff or our guests. Talking to you makes people feel secure, understood, and taken care of.
- Approach problem solving as a skill to master rather than a hurdle to overcome. You learn from your mistakes and not only evolve from them, you use them to create new systems of efficiency and lessons for your staff.
- Have strong wine knowledge and the intention to always be learning more about wine (and food).
- You know when to jump in and fill in the gaps, and when to catch up on your admin; strong time management and pride in your organizational systems are two essential features of your personality.
- Your sense of the environment around you means that you know when to have a laugh and when to bring some gravity to every situation.
**Operations Management--some, but not all, of the things you'll do**:
- Manage the floor while on shift - this includes ensuring all team members are living by our core values, assisting on the floor with food running, busing, expo, and table maintenance
- Assist the GM in all operations - this includes daily cash, payroll, recruitment, inventory, labour costs, food costs, training and scheduling
- Ensure that opening and closing checklists are completed up to established operating standards
- Approve discounts and promos as required
- Strive to enhance guest experiences at every opportunity with a focus on customer satisfaction. Handle guest conflicts and concerns with tact and professionalism
- Work each shift with a safety mindset. Be proactive in regards front of the house and back of the house safety (food safety, potential hazards for employees or guests)
