**Job description**

DESCRIPTION
The Technician’s role is to support customers Print Devices & Peripherals and Dictation Products. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required. Order entry and the filling of orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning
Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation.
Support development and implementation of new hardware installations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations.

Operational Management
Liaise with, and provide training and support to, end users on, printing devices, peripherals, dictation hardware & software and other issues.
Install, configure, test, maintain, printing devices, peripherals, dictation hardware & software

Perform on-site or remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
Order entry and the filling of orders.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education & Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Criminal Record check may be required to work at some specific customer sites.

Knowledge & Experience
Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
Hands-on PC hardware troubleshooting experience.
Mechanical aptitude or experience in the maintenance and repair of print devices, monochrome, color and multi-function devices.
Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.

Would need to successfully complete a range of manufacture specific training courses in a timely manner, in both hardware and software products

WORK CONDITIONS
830-1700 Monday to Friday - part time - as scheduled (This position can evolve into full time)
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
Reliable automobile large enough to transport a small to mid size peripheral. Valid Driver's license. Reimbursement at maximum allowable rate allowed by the Canada Revenue Agency for use required to perform duties on a kilometer used basis. Very limited out of town travel.

RENUMERATION
Industry average or above depending on experience. There is a program to increase earnings substantially depending on results obtained through your personal initiative.
Medical and Dental plan mostly paid by Employer.

Warwood Office Equipment (Edmonton) Ltd is a privately owned company that has served Western Canada for 70 years. We specialize in Print Devices, Digital Dictation Equipment and Software, PC and Peripherals, Paper Shredders and Paper handling equipment. We support and service what we sell.

**Salary**: $17.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
