**About Our Opportunity**:
The Coordinator is accountable for activities related to the Department's year-long role as Lead of the Provincial-Territorial Health Secretariat. The Coordinator is responsible for scheduling confidential meetings involving Ministers, Deputy Ministers and staff from all provinces and territories; creation and distribution of meeting materials; and creation and tracking of meeting records. Assists with Secretariat business planning, financial management, tracking of information from multiple active health files, and compilation of research and other briefing materials and reports.
The Coordinator is responsible for developing and tracking the status of priority initiatives and engages with the Executive Leadership Teams across Canada.
A high level of tact and diplomacy is necessary when interacting with provincial/territorial jurisdictions, interjurisdictional policy tables, and the Federal Government in seeking consensus on a wide variety of policy decisions with potentially significant health care policy and cost implications for all Provinces and Territories.
**Primary Accountabilities**:
Key Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates event planning for major Provincial-Territorial and Federal-Provincial-Territorial meetings such as the Conference of Deputy Ministers and the Health Ministers Meeting(s).
- Coordinates the gathering of information and development of meeting agendas and meeting materials and coordinates the distribution of materials to participants. Liaises with key staff of all Provincial and Territorial Departments of Health and gathers their input and incorporates it into the meeting materials/agenda.
- Supports communication with all provinces and territories related to the work of the Secretariat.
- As requested, conducts research, and prepares summary reports on emerging policy and regulatory issues and initiatives.
- Supports working groups and committees by organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and gathering background materials.
- Coordinates the tracking of the Health Table’s forward agenda and directives by identifying responsibility requirements, creating a mechanism to systematically keep track of deliverables and liaising with all provinces and territories to keep them apprised of the status of these responsibilities.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
Grade 11 + 1 year business course + 4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
Other requirements are:
- Ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in evaluating the completion of various phases of a project
- Analytical skills to monitor progress of an undertaking and identify areas needing adjustment or improvement
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential
- Willingness to manage multiple tasks at once and adhere to guidelines, budgets, and deadlines
- Cooperative and communicative attitude with executive staff, managers, and employees

**Working Conditions**:
