**HOURS: 37.5 Per week, Monday through Friday**

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position will be a strong administrative and service support for all things leave and benefits within the organization. They will support both managers and employees with all questions and administrative tasks related to workplace wellness and benefit programs, short and long term leaves, and WCB.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Support and administration of workplace wellness and benefits programs
- Support and champion initiatives to support our teammates’ workplace wellness, incorporating Indigenous understandings of wellness alongside traditional benefit programs
- Manage long term disability claims and continuation of benefits for staff on leave.
- Create, track and audit leave reports, following up with managers and employees as needed.
- Support HR and Program Managers with WCB claim input, and follow-up. Act as a point of contact for the organization with WCB, escalate to HR Partner/Director as needed.
- Provide support to staff and managers navigating medical leaves of absence, return to work plans, and modified duties.
- Work closely with the Human Resources team on OHS strategy and goals.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in related field.
- Experience in benefits, leave and Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
- Previous Experience in a non-profit organization preferred.
- Knowledge and/or willingness to learn about Indigenous culture and ways of being.
- Ability to manage multiple project and tasks at once, work within tight deadlines and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
- Police Check with a Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the last six months.
- Valid First Aid or enrolled in course.
