**Position description**:
The Operations manager is responsible for leading their team during assigned shifts in the Network Service Centers 24/7 operation support department. Our Operations support team provides timely and accurate train & inventory reporting, processing of customer switch requests, way billing, and border train documentation thru transactional exception handling in a variety of systems. This position has leadership accountability for inputs and outputs of safety, service, productivity and financial metrics for this department.


**Position accountabilities**:
Lead the department by providing direction and guidance relative to establishing priorities and defining and managing team workloads
Provide education and mentorship in order to develop and maintain a best-in-class customer experience including execution of work and consistency throughout the department.
Fosters and promotes innovative solutions that drive cost reduction and continuous improvement of processes
Ensure adherence to standard Service Level Agreements (SLA) relative to processing inbound documents and requests.
Liaise with Train and Engine (T&E) Trainmasters and Assistant Trainmasters, managing shift by shift issues to enable effective train movement;
Manages labor issues;
Act as a point of escalation for all tactical issues on production floor.

**Position requirements**:
University degree preferred and/or 5 years of relevant working experience.
Proficiency with Office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
**Preferred skills/experience**:
Experience providing customer service in a similar work environment;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Excellent problem solving abilities;
Relevant railway working experience considered and asset;
Ability to multitask and to work under strict timelines and pressure;
Ability to manage conflict and conflicting stakeholder interests;
