As a strategic member of the Workforce Management team (CDN Retail Operations (GWAM)), the **Business Continuity Planning Specialist **will have a vital role in supporting the reduction of business continuity risks to Manulife’s assets. The incumbent will accomplish this by leading the Business Continuity function for Global Wealth and Asset Management, CDN Retail (GWAM CWAM). The Business Continuity function provides critical support to all of our GWAM CWAM processes and is key to ensuring the success of our operations. The incumbent will be a significant contributor, providing risk management consulting and planning services to GWAM CWAM leadership.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support business continuity management framework and processes including the business impact analysis, recovery time and point objectives, single point of failure and critical path mapping reviews, and coordinate the testing of continuity strategies.
- Help ensure adequate BCPs and DRPs are valid and viable through regular testing and evidence is maintained to provide assurance of resilience for business continuity risk.
- Assist the business in tracking and reporting on open action items related to lessons learned identified through testing, external events, and Internal Audit/external review findings; ensure adequacy of evidence to support closure of findings.
- Assist CDN Retail Operations in analyzing root causes of incidents, control gaps and development of sustainable mitigation action plans.
- Scenario planning - creating a play book that outlines the key risks and approaches to managing a BC/DR situation.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, records and reports for review by auditors and regulators, including BCM related data, dashboards, scorecards, KPIs and KRIs.

- Coordinate with CDN Operations partners to ensure that BC strategies are aligned in both MBPS (Philippines) and Canadian Operations areas.

**What we are looking for**
- 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity Management with involvement in the full BCM lifecycle activities.
- Certification from Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), DRI International (CBCP).
- Experience in Business Continuity Management professional practices.
- Experience in Business Continuity Management Software (Fusion) would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of the Investments industry.
- Good project management skills.
- Organized and diligent with a strong focus on delivering targeted outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with partners of various levels in the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tenacity to push past challenges while maintaining focus on the objective.
- Ability to explore, learn, and deploy innovative approaches and tools to support change.
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of tools - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PBI, etc.
