**Job Description**:

Johnson Electric/Stackpole is excited to announce we are now recruiting for an Automation Design Manager. This person will manage the design team’s day to day activities for quality and efficiency. Track performance to target. Provide leadership and guidance to the department to maintain progressive product design advancement. May be assigned to supervise the AGC equipment manufacturing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet project objective- Provide systematic corrective actions when objectives are not met- Manage corrective action and open issues list- Full supervisory responsibility for direct reports in the department relative to departmental and company policies- Provide leadership to all Design staff to ensure and promote personal growth- Continuous development of leading edge assembly and testing technology- Play a supporting role in the multi-disciplinary approach to equipment design / development- Create and manage quality check lists in line with the SOR and Machine Build Specification requirements to ensure equipment is fully tested prior shipment- Ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 all Stackpole International policies and any other industry standards in all activities- Determine and develop training requirements- Develop and maintain a customer oriented department strategy- Assist in departmental budget process as it relates to new products and design tools- Follow 5S and organizational guidelines- Development and maintenance of Design System- Implementation and coordination of build standards- Develop CI ideas to improve the departmental systems- Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications, Education And / or Experience:
- Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives- Perform other related duties as required- An undergraduate degree in Engineering and relevant experience- Good understanding of automated solutions and assembly processes- Able to synthesize and communicate concept and design solutions to a broad audience- Mechanical aptitude- Demonstrated Team Management skills- Excellent communications, negotiating, conflict management, and problem solving skills- Proficient in FMEA and GD&T- Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on IATF 16949/ISO9001operating systems- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
