The Operations Systems Specialist loads the shift sort plans into the system and is responsible for monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of the sortation systems within the Warehouse/Sort facility, by recommending adjustments, and implementing adjustments as directed by management to keep the warehouse/sort facility as productive as it can be.
**Responsibilities**:
- Input sort plans into the sortation system
- Engage with stakeholders to understand shipping issues before it effects warehouse/sort facility productivity
- Monitor flow within the warehouse/sort facility and work with frontline managers to optimize capacity and service
- Collaborate with yard and control room coordinators to ensure overall flow planned in and out of the warehouse/sortation facility is maintained
- Identify hub performance shortfalls and work with other managers and partners in ensuring appropriate action plans are developed, monitored and implemented.
- Respond to chute plan performance and observations in a manner that safeguards assets and mitigate risks to packages and people
- Identify and prioritize logistics needs and communicate recommendations to leadership in order to achieve efficient national logístical operations from the Warehouse/Sort facility
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal Requirements
- Certificate in Electrical Automation/ control systems discipline (as an asset)
- 2-5 years operational experience in the industry
- Experience in a warehouse-type environment/sortation facility
- Experience in an automated sortation facility
- Experience communicating with all levels of business
- Demonstrated ability to work with data (intermediate data analytics skills)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables
- Knowledge of local and inter province linehaul/trailer movements
