This new and exciting position will be reporting to the Patient Care Manager of 4M Medicine. In addition, the position will be providing support to 4M and other Medicine units. This role is best suited for someone who understands or is keen to learn about the complex work that occurs in face-paced medical units and support by ensuring the unit(s) run smoothly. This role is best suited for someone who wishes to lend their innovative solutions, organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and interest in improving and streamlining processes to support complex clinical areas.
- Duties and Responsibilities:

- Works closely with the manager to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
- Reviews performance metrics with the manager to provide suggestions on patient flow and efficiency.
- Advises manager of any issues and works towards proactive resolution.
- Reviews, monitors and implements all data quality reports and identifies issues
- Organizes information sharing and communication across the unit
- Ensure that admissions, discharges and transfers are coordinated effectively across units
- Manages equipment inventory and facilitates biomedical service requests including PPE and clinical equipment (e.g. thermometers)
- Works collaboratively with patient care managers to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling
- Maintains staff master schedule templates, creates schedule drafts, and reviews staff requests
- Continuously seeks opportunities for quality improvement to ensure optimal departmental operations
- Any other responsibilities as requested by the Managers

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in health related field.
- Must have 3-5 years of clinical or coordinator experience in a healthcare environment
- Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and balance multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Well developed conflict management skills and problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with project coordination an asset.
- Ability to facilitate team development and cohesion required.
- Proficiency with MS office software: word, excel.
- Excellent initiative and decision making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and identify relevant support for the resolution issues in the day to day operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Presents a calm and pleasant demeanor at all times and works well under pressure.
- Highly-organized and efficient time management skills.
