As District Sales Manager at United Rentals, you'll be instrumental in supporting the district reach its business plan through profitable revenue generation. You will do so by providing exceptional customer service and leading sales initiatives. You will meet sales objectives in assigned territories by leading the development and management of a qualified sales team in cooperation with Branch Managers, District Manager and the Regional Sales & Marketing Director.

Additional duties include the following:

- Motivate and proactively assist Outside Sales Representatives in meeting and exceeding their equipment rental, sales and total revenue goals
- Work with the District Manager and Branch Managers to develop new markets, to understand market trends, competition and other matters affecting the profitability of the company
- Assist Branch Managers with establishing sales territories, goals and forecast for Outside Sales Representatives
- Align inside sales rep activities, goals and objectives with those of Outside Sales Representatives
- Assist Branch Managers in sales blitzes and initiate other customer-focused events to improve business relationships and drive sales penetration within the district
- Promote Key Account (National Account, Strategic Account, and assigned Account) revenue generation within the District
- Promote efficient and optimal use of Salesforce

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work experience
- ** Industry Experience (Construction/Equipment Rentals) is a must**
- 7+ years of successful outside sales, sales management or management experience with proven planning, problem-solving and negotiation skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Salesforce
- Superior leadership, customer service, presentation, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
- Independent self
- starter with strong self -imposed structure with organizational skills and business acumen
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

**DISTRICT SALES MANAGER - IN FRENCH**

Vous atteindrez les objectifs de vente dans les territoires assignés en dirigeant le développement et la gestion d'une équipe commerciale qualifiée en collaboration avec les directeurs de succursale, le directeur de district et le directeur marketing et commercial régional.

Responsabilités complémentaires (liste non exhaustive):

- Motiver et aider proactivement les représentants commerciaux externes à atteindre et à dépasser leurs objectifs de location d'équipement, de ventes et de revenus totaux
- Travailler de concert avec le directeur de district et les directeurs de succursale pour développer de nouveaux marchés, pour comprendre les tendances du marché, la concurrence et d'autres questions touchant la rentabilité de l'entreprise
- Aider les directeurs de succursale à établir les territoires de vente, les objectifs et les prévisions pour les représentants commerciaux externes
- Harmoniser les activités, les buts et les objectifs des représentants commerciaux internes avec ceux des représentants commerciaux externes
- Aider les directeurs de succursale à organiser des campagnes-éclairs de vente et à organiser d'autres événements axés sur les clients afin d'améliorer les relations d'affaires et d'accroître la pénétration des ventes dans le district
- Promouvoir la production de revenus des comptes clés (comptes nationaux, comptes stratégiques et comptes attribués) dans le district
- Promouvoir une utilisation efficace et optimale de Salesforce

Exigences du poste:

- Baccalauréat ou combinaison équivalente d'expérience de travail
- Une expérience dans l'industrie (construction/location d'équipement) est indispensable
- Plus de 7 ans d'expérience prospère en ventes externes, en gestion des ventes ou en gestion avec des compétences éprouvées en planification, en résolution de problèmes et en négociation, ainsi que d'excellentes aptitudes en communication interpersonnelle
- Excellentes aptitudes informatiques avec expérience avec Salesforce
