**Technical Lead, eHealth, IMITS**

Within a client service culture and reporting to the Manager, eHealth, Portal, and Registry Solutions, the eHealth Technical Lead leads operational and project functions related to the planning, implementation, operation and future enhancements of eHealth solutions such as Provincial Laboratory Information System (PLIS) or eViewer. The eHealth Technical Lead provides direction and leadership to a team comprised of staff and project resources such as Systems Analysts, Technical Analysts, and Project Managers, and works collaboratively with all members of the eHealth team and technical professionals at both the health authority and provincial level.

**What you’ll do**
- Provides leadership on technical work streams and processes, and supervises team members, identifies and assesses the feasibility of solutions to technical challenges faced by the eHealth team, provides information on the technical issues and constraints to the Manager and to business stakeholders, and liaises and coordinates the efforts of external technical teams including Ministry of Health technical team, vendors, BC Health Shared Services with the eHealth technical team.
- Works with project team members to develop and carry out activities to ensure effective sustainment support and coordinates eHealth sustainment activities. Provides input in creating and maintaining eHealth integration procedures and documentation.
- Analyzes results of PLIS connectivity test cycles and coordinate efforts to resolve connectivity failures, identifies and records system defects, reviews defects with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure a complete understanding, and coordinates efforts to resolve issues.
- Identifies the requirements for new environments, participates/coordinates the installation activities to activate new environments, participates in the regularly scheduled PLIS Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to plan and execute environment promotions and changes, and ensures the integrity of the system environments including the production, development, and testing system instances and environments. Ensures appropriate change control processes are in place for all system environments and oversees the implementation of related new work processes
- Plans and coordinates the release schedules for PLIS and eViewer, participates in the creation of change request for PLIS environment and integration enhancements.

**Qualifications**:

- Exceptional leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience in developing and supporting Clinical Applications. Accurate and detail oriented. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Exceptional customer focus and strong professional acumen. Familiarity with VCH/PHC/PHSA environment and exposure to eHealth development projects is highly desirable. Highly organized and adept to managing multiple priorities. Extensive experience working with personal computers, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Knowledge of multiple programming languages and tools such as.Net, C#, HL7 V2 and V3, ASP.Net. Experience with database management, data manipulation and software such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access. Ability to learn new software quickly.
