We are currently seeking a collaborative and experienced leader for the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Unit within the Major Agencies and Program Support Branch.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post-secondary education, preferably at the Master's level in Public Administration, Social Sciences, or other relevant discipline. Other equivalent combinations of related education and experience may be considered
- Experience researching, analyzing, and making recommendations on matters of public policy and program development
- Experience leading and managing complex projects and policy initiatives
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience with an ability to motivate and coach staff
- Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing position papers, submissions, briefing materials and reports to senior officials
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions between different groups, including internal and external stakeholders
- Strong political acumen with the ability to exercise sound judgement in dealing with confidential and politically sensitive materials and situations
- Excellent organizational skills, with experience working under pressure, and managing multiple complex priorities in tight timeframes
- Superior interpersonal skills for the purposes of building and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with a variety of diverse internal and external stakeholders

**Duties**:
Reporting to the Director of the Major Agencies and Program Support Branch, the Manager of the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Unit (ACSC) is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Program via the establishment of four distinct program streams in support of the department’s mission and mandate.

The Manager is directly responsible for planning, co-ordinating and evaluating the activities of a core team of policy analysts and support staff within the unit as well as policy analysts and support staff within other branches of the division who provide additional supports to each of the program streams.

This Manager undertakes research, analysis and preparation of key central government documents as well as the preparation of ministerial correspondence, briefing materials and reports. The position carries out this role through leadership, consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including senior departmental officials, and various levels of government.
