The Communications team at the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto is looking for a dynamic and innovative storyteller. In this role you will contribute to the development and implementation of an integrated multi-channel communications strategy and work with teams across the university to create content and advance the brand narrative.

This role requires a strategic, collaborative communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. You should have expert level understanding of social platforms with a talent for crafting custom content and messaging appropriate for each platform and audience.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- With direction from the Editorial manager, create compelling web content and blog posts.
- Create content/assets for use on social media, including the development of channel specific content to support institutional priorities.
- Collaborate with people across the university to identify and bring forward compelling story ideas for external audiences.
- Ensure that our institutional voice, tone and style is consistently reflected in all digital communications.
- Support the Communications team in project management, development of content and execution of communication events and activities as needed.
- Assist with content development/coordinate for the alumni magazine.
- Serve as back-up for posting content to social channels, websites and e-newsletters.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in communication, public relations or journalism.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in content creation for web and social channels.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Must have excellent written communication skills and the ability to write a diverse array of messages that are nuanced, diplomatic, inspiring, or any number of objectives as required
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, and best practices for content development and community engagement across a variety of channels
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-activity work environment
