Social Media & Content Specialist (Contract)

Our client, IG Wealth Management is looking for a Social Media and Content Specialist to join their fast paced, highly collaborative and growing Brand Team. If you have a passion for marketing, want a career in brand growth and customer acquisition, excel at managing multiple projects, and have a strong attention to detail, this is an exciting opportunity for you 

This role has two primary areas of focus: leading the strategy and coordination of omnichannel social media content and supporting asset development for content initiatives. You will play a critical role in developing, executing, and reporting on a strategy for IG‘s social media channels. As part of the content role, you will manage content initiatives such as the weekly podcast, digital and print newsletters, on-hold messages, and article maintenance on IG.ca. 

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Brand Strategy and work closely with the Senior Manager, Mass Affluent Content Strategy & Client Experience. This role will expose you to a broad range of projects and you will work with many different functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities 

As a Social Media and Content Specialist you will:

Manage Social Media operations for the IG Wealth Brand:

  • Work with the digital team to implement a social media strategy across all social channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. 
  • Create social content by leveraging longer form content for key projects such as quarterly review, federal budget, and observances.
  • Lead day-to-day social media activities including managing and implementing social calendars.
  • Interact with prospects and clients to develop an engaged social community.
  • Analyze performance and make recommendations monthly to improve ongoing strategy and tactics.
  • Identify trends and areas of opportunity through social chatter to positively impact the client experience.

Facilitate content operations:

  • Lead the creation, distribution, and promotion of the weekly podcast on IG.ca and social channels.
  • Work with the web publishing team to update article content on IG.ca.
  • Manage the content for client newsletters both digital and print.
  • Update client communications such as on-hold messages and TV screens.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 1 year of experience managing social media accounts.
  • A demonstrated ability to engage with social media audiences and improve engagement.
  • An education background in marketing, communications or a similar field.
  • An ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines. 
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube.
  • Experience with Hootsuite, Canva and Brandwatch is an asset.
  • Bilingual English-French is preferred.
