**The team**

Our core team has built out our operations in the Canadian and U.S. markets, and we are now working to scale the business. **What you’ll do**

As Finance Manager, you will work closely with the VP Finance and CEO to ensure the strong financial health of EnPowered. You will fully own the accounting and finance functions and they will be yours to operate and evolve as EnPowered grows. You will also be heavily involved in budgeting and forecasting, banking and investing, taxes, as well as auditor preparedness and relations. This role is broken down in the following two areas:
**Accounting**:

- Manage the company's accounts and day-to-day bookkeeping
- Stay on top of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables, including working with the Customer Success team to ensure customers are paying on time
- Complete month-end close process and lead audit preparation materials and represent EnPowered on a regular basis with auditors
- Perform and enhance management, statutory, and investor reporting
- Prepare audit support materials and form a key part of auditor relationship management

**Finance**:

- Support or lead all discussions with EnPowered’s banks and other lending on investing institutions
- Lead the issuance and maintenance of Letters of Credit and other collateral obligations needed in the energy markets
- Perform payroll and maintain stock option records
- Work directly with the VP Finance and executive team to build and manage financial budgets and projections, including regular reporting against budget
- Oversee employee expense reporting
- Play a critical role in the selection, implementation, or enhancement of all financial tools in the business - accounting, employee expenses, payroll, and stock options tracking

**Who you are**
- You are someone who wants to own their work; when you start you will have a list of to dos, but within 3 months you are expected to be largely independent and capable of prioritizing your own list of tasks
- You exhibit confidence, know how to gather relevant information on a topic area and are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- You have prior experience with accounting and other finance software, with knowledge of Quickbooks, ADP, Carta, and Zapier (beneficial but not required)
- You are comfortable learning new software tools
- You have the proven ability to start and run your own projects from beginning to end
- You have strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- You have strong financial and accounting acumen with 5+ years’ experience in a finance/accounting role
- You possess or are working towards a CPA
- You have advanced Excel skills, including strong knowledge of managing large files, manipulating Pivot Tables, and using Index functions
