As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a **City Dispatcher** who will be responsible for pre-planning loads, and dispatching. This role reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent takes charge of the entire pre-planning/updating trips process to ensure all shipments meet pick-up and delivery times and are planned in accordance to appointments and expectations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan daily driver routes for the fleet
- Prepare/Print preload/delivery documentation (Including TDG document and all necessary BOLs)
- Responsible for all driver communications; providing detailed pick up and delivery information
- Plan proper equipment for each trip (delivery + pickup and FTL/LTL) and ensure that the trailers and containers are fully utilized in the most cost effective way without creating unnecessary expense for the Company
- Communicate effectively to Appt Desk and CS department regarding any potential service delays or failures prior to the occurrence so that they can communicate to the customers
- Manage any anomalies that will need to be dealt with in daily deliveries/pickups (oversized freight, heavy volumes on certain lanes and details of any particular shipments that require meeting certain customer demands)
- Process all pending inbound drivers prior to shift completion, double check the type of the freight that he has on board and advise dock so they can assign appropriate door
- Communicate special delivery/pickup instruction to dispatchers
- Maintain dispatch board clearly identifying shipment information, truck location and trailer positioning
- Coordinate all fleet maintenance with maintenance manager. Facilitate delivery of equipment to various maintenance and repair vendors.
- Ensure all emergency repairs are handled as per the guidelines outlined in the operations manual.
- Responsible for ensuring all corporate security policies are followed
- Filing dispatch paperwork
- Willing to work occasional extended hours as required
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications & Key Competencies**:

- Grade 12 graduation
- Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel
- MUST have experience in a Dispatch role
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Good analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills; attention to detail
- Ability to meet urgent deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently

**Hours and Location**:

- Monday to Friday: 14:00 - 22:30
- Terminal Location: Calgary, AB

**Remuneration**:
$50,000 + per year based on experience
