**Here's the role**

GMS is undergoing an exciting transformation that requires the support of a talented training expert who understands the learning needs of the organization to develop innovative learning solutions.

As the Learning and Development Specialist you will design, develop, and implement instructional activities. This role will develop innovative learning solutions to ensure we have effective job training and digital learning resources in place.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement training resources and deliver formal training in at timely and effective manner. This role may also be responsible for supporting and developing training initiatives across the organization as required.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop high quality learning and development experiences that meet the needs of our organization.
- Conduct formal assessments, define learning objectives, and design training using instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Leverage various learning design methodologies to develop and maintain effective and sustainable training programs (includes online, in classroom, virtual/instructor led training and blended learning techniques) to meet the needs of the business.
- Advance or discover, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, the potential use of AI tools and strategies to improve outcomes and better prepare staff for long term success.
- Coordinate, administer, and evaluate training programs to identify improvement opportunities related to the training program design.
- May also be required to facilitate training.

**Your must haves**
- Diploma in adult education, instructional design, or related program
- Minimum 2 - 4 years training and development experience with at least 2 years' experience developing online and in-person training
- Computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Understanding and working knowledge of learning management systems, educational technologies and implementation strategies
