THE OPPORTUNITY

This role completes a wide range of administrative functions, tasks and projects in support of our amazing co-op & internship program. We have over 60 students each term and want someone who enjoys working with people and ensuring a world-class student experience.

The Technician deals with sensitive information requiring well-rounded knowledge and expertise of HR functions and services. The Technician fulfills a support role to the Campus Program while maintaining processes relating to HR practices and may act on behalf of the Advisor as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:
- Completion of a two-year diploma in HR/related field or equivalent- 3+ years office experience or experience where being highly organized is required- A preference is for those with experience in an HR team or organization- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint- Ability to work effectively with broad direction in a close interdependent team environment- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail- Ability to multi-task and seamlessly change priorities when required- Ability to work with a diverse range of investment professionals in a proactive and confidential manner- Working level understanding of employment legislation and the HR industry- Proficiency and confidence when dealing with all levels of the corporation- A service-minded attitude and sensitivity to differing cultures

Nice to have, although not required- Previous experience working with or for students in a co-op program - at a university or college, in a business, or a recent graduate of a co-op-based program- Knowledge of the investing and finance industry- Previous experience using HR Information Systems or learning new systems

WHO YOU WILL GET TO WORK WITH

The Talent Acquisition (TA) team builds and delivers both strategies and actions in support of our team’s four strategic pillars: 1) Talent Pipelines 2) Campus 3) Equity, Diversity Inclusion and 4) Global Talent. Through collaborative and creative approaches, the TA team will deliver full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing talent from around the globe, across BCI. The co-op/intern program is a long-term talent pipeline for BCI and an important part of our TA strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO- Provides administrative support for the co-op/intern program, including completing offer letters, new hire, change and departure tasks such as entering information into the HRIS, submitting user requests and initiating background checks, etc.- Supports the recruitment process by posting vacancies on the BCI website and relevant university job boards- Schedules and attends co-op/intern events such as orientation, welcome session, knowledge builder events, social activities, wrap-up events, etc. and orders catering when applicable- Enters data into the co-op overview spreadsheet and conducts periodic reviews to ensure accuracy-
- Responds to queries from students and supervisors regarding employment policies, co-op/intern program dates, referring matters to the Advisor, Campus Program or Director, Talent Acquisition as appropriate- Attends campus events both locally and across Canada, requiring the ability to travel for approximately 10 days per year.- Guides employees to appropriate resources that exist on the B&B- Updates documents and guides as directed by the Advisor, Campus Program- Compiles statistics on the student cohort each work term- Provides administrative support for events such as roundtables, on-site support for orientation, supervisor training, etc.-
- Schedules travel arrangements for the Advisor, Campus Program and other BCI representatives for campus recruiting events- Processes invoices as required- May provide occasional backup to Advisor, Campus Program to ensure seamless service delivery for BCI internal clients

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Work from our downtown Victoria office. We are an in-person collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely 1-day a week. However, the Campus program has some set dates for program delivery and the successful person will work to meet the business and program requirements.

SALARY RANGE

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $62,000 - $70,
