**How your role will add to the story**:
The Mercedes-Benz Cars Purchasing & Supplier Quality (MP) division is responsible for procuring production materials and ensuring supplier quality for Mercedes-Benz AG, with an annual procurement volume in the double-digit billion range. Innovation, top quality, and sustainability are critical success factors for MP, with innovation and top quality being the most important brand promises of Mercedes-Benz.

MP's role is to sustainably introduce innovations and top quality into the vehicles. This requires collaborating with around 1,500 innovative, high-performance, and flexible partners in the supplier industry worldwide, as well as employing the best individuals responsible for providing production materials for the global Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans production network. MP locations across the globe, including Germany, Austria, South Africa, China, India, the USA, Mexico, Argentina, and Canada, ensure that the necessary interface to production is maintained.

As a member of the MP department, you will play a crucial role in procuring and ensuring the quality of production materials for a leading automotive company with an annual purchasing volume in the tens of billions. Your focus on innovation, top quality, and sustainability will contribute to the company's brand promise and success.

**A day in the life**
- Plan and execute negotiations for a complex area of work.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and lead contract and price negotiations.
- Develop specific strategies for sourcing raw materials and direct sourcing.
- Evaluate current suppliers for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Monitor and control the defined raw material volumes within specific supply chains.
- Develop direct sourcing business models and negotiate corresponding procurement contracts.
- Develop standards and processes that align with established guidelines.
- Lead complex projects within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Contribute your expertise to decision-making and reporting bodies while advocating for MBAG's interests.
- Foster cross-functional cooperation with internal and external stakeholders in the areas of responsibility.
- Analyze market trends and industry standards to ensure the procurement process aligns with the company's objectives and strategies.
