Our products can be found under Private Label in local and national groceries, multi-unit restaurant operations, and other food manufacturers across the US and Canada. We supply a vast range of chef-created sauces and dressings for meal kits, frozen meals, restaurant entrees and salads and salad kits. **Position Summary**:
The **Procurement Specialist** is a crucial role in optimizing supply chain operations by managing vendor relationships, sourcing products and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments to support their procurement needs and contribute to the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the organization.
**Responsibilities includes but not limited to the following**:
- Source and procure goods, materials, and services required for production, operations, and projects.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
- Maintain and update procurement records, such as purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory control teams to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes affecting procurement.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Business Studies Degree
- CAPIC/ APICS certification preferred.
- MRP experience is required.
- 5 years experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong problem-solving techniques with a continuous improvement mindset
- Able to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Advanced analytical skills
- Negotiation skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent personal discipline and work ethic with respect to time and attendance
