**Job Purpose**

The QA/QC Level 2 is primarily responsible for completing tasks such as inspections, examinations and reports as required by governing codes, standards, specifications and project quality plans or ITP’s. In addition to performing tasks, the Level 2 may be required to mentor or supervise Level 1 Inspectors on the Project Site.

**Responsibilities**
- Display a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
- Ensure the quality of construction is in accordance with Waiward’s Project Quality Plan and customer specifications.
- Learn and become knowledgeable with the client’s technical specifications and liaise with Owner’s or clients SME on technical quality issues.
- Complete and fulfill the requirement of Inspection and Test Plans in accordance with all required construction standards, code, and owner requirements (CSA W59 ASME B31.3, etc.).
- Review and complete project deliverables such as reports, logs, and ITP’s.
- Review and complete turnover packages in a timely fashion as per customer requirements.
- Monitor and audit subcontractors.
- Perform inspections on work executed by subcontractors.
- Review and accept subcontractor turnover documentation.
- Maintain/create weld maps and logs.
- Verify Material Receiving activities and fill out documentation as required.
- Initiate and/or provide technical input to all NCRs / RFIs generated; track responses as required.
- Complete daily QA/QC Report.
- Carrie out visual examination of welding and bolting.
- Ensure material indentation and traceability of welding and all installed components.
- Ensure correct and timely reporting of all examinations.
- Ensure the welders are qualified for the welding processes they are using
- Monitor weld consumable receiving, handling, distribution, and storage.
- Review logs for welder and line class NDE percentage, requesting the necessary NDE when required.
- Identity and flag all welds requiring PWHT or NDE. Coordinates with subcontractors to execute the work.
- Carry out on a continuous basis quality surveillance of component/system erection to completion to ensure all components have been installed/erected as per the IFC drawings.
- Witness pressure testing (hydro and pneumatic) of components in conjunction with the client inspector as required. Sign all pressure test documents when the test has been completed.
- Perform visual examinations and monitor bolt up of critical components.
- Monitor any assembly or erection of all equipment.
- Monitor all equipment/pumps care, maintenance and preservation as required.
- Witness mechanical alignments for pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
- Perform trouble shooting quality related issues with relevant stakeholders, including customer representatives.
- Provide quality orientation to new site workers specific to the project site.

**Qualifications**
- CSA W178.2 Level 2 Welding Inspector w/ CSA W59 & ASME B31.3 endorsements. complete with current CWB Visual Acuity Record.
- Must have sound technical knowledge of applicable codes and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of NDE processes RT, UT, MT, PT.
- Must have CSTS-09/CSTS-2020, OSSA Regional/BSO/CSO
- Valid certifications for the work being performed (i.e. - Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, EWP, etc.)
- Must complete a pre-access Alcohol and Drug test prior to accessing site.
- Class 5 Driver's Licence and a clear and current driver's abstract are required.
