You're a seasoned Dock and Boat Lift builder, and are confident mentoring others, providing the necessary training and feedback for success

**DETAIL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1. **Planning and Execution**
- Manage the execution of dock service work, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within deadlines
- Perform as a service technician, installing dock systems and performing service work, along with crew in a variety of weather/water conditions
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of dock service crew of **2 to 5** employees
- Delegate job tasks to crew members to assist in the completion of tasks
- Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: chainsaw winch, drills, floating devices, boat, etc.
- Read and interpret layout diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities

- Demonstrate shoreline stewardship with environmental best practices and technical knowledge
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Demonstrate role model behaviours, ethics, integrity and positive promotion of company culture
- Demonstrate active participation in regular team meetings
- Participate in management of service personnel by:

- Performing onboarding of new staff
- Complete scheduled performance appraisals on personnel under your care
- Refine, implement and measure divisional best practices and performance metrics

**3. **Organization and Equipment Care**
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily

**4. **Safety and Quality Standards**
- Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards

**5. **Project Reporting**

Note, Peak dock service is during spring and early fall. In off peak (mid summer, late fall), it is required for this position to participate in landscape construction duties (see separate job description).

**TECHNICAL SKILLS**:

- You're skilled as a dock and boat lift installer
- You're skilled with all required power tools and equipment
- You're mechanically minded and enjoy assembling
- You have a valid driver's license and clean record
- You are able to use a smartphone for communication and reporting
- You are able to accurately record crew hours by task, and materials used daily
- You're prepared to work in waves, wind, cold and deep water (dry-suits provided)
- You're prepared to work on difficult shoreline access, steep embankments
