**Dispatcher**
The Owen Sound Police Service has a requirement for a Full-Time Dispatcher, who will be responsible for administrative and emergency call-taking and dispatching police and fire calls for service in a computerized Communications Centre. **This position is full-time**
**and involves rotating shifts.**

**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Education | High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience | Minimum 2 years experience working in Public Safety or Emergency
Services environment
- Effective communication skills | Fluent in English both orally and in writing.
- Computer skills | Must be able to type a minimum of 40 WPM during a 5-minute typing test.
- Geography | Knowledge of Ontario with an emphasis on the Grey, Bruce, Huron and
Perth County, as well as the Municipalities of Port Hope and Cobourg.
- Work authorization | A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in Canada for a minimum 3 of the last 5 years.
- Availability | Able to work full-time during 3-4 month training period with mínimal or no vacation time.
