Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- The successful applicant will be required to work various day and evening shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays and will be required to be available on an ‘on call’ basis
Qualifications:
**Essential**:
- Applicants must have extensive knowledge of federal and provincial statutes, regulations and municipal by-laws relevant to matters that are within the jurisdiction of the Provincial Court. Knowledge and comprehension of the jurisdiction and work processes of the Provincial Court is also a requirement.
- Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of judicial independence and a demonstrated ability to effectively deal with people in a fair, courteous and diplomatic way. Applicants must possess effective communication and listening skills.
**Duties**:
Applicants must be willing to reside in the judicial center of appointment, and be capable of and willing to travel by automobile and small aircraft or any other form of transportation necessary, to exercise the duties and responsibilities of a Judicial Justice of the Peace in the province. If you have applied in the past two years and have indicated Winnipeg Court Centre as one of your preferred court locations and you are bi-lingual, there is no need to re-apply.
