Bridging government, entrepreneurship and venture capital, this role provides a unique opportunity for someone who has a passion for making a difference in BC and has the skills to position InBC as a strategic and respected organization while helping to identify investment opportunities aligned with its investment mandate.

Working directly with the CEO and across the InBC team, the person in this role will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of a provincial strategic investment fund working to generate financial returns as well as long-term impact benefits to British Columbia.

**Position Overview**:
The Strategic Engagement Manager reports to the CEO and will own a partnership and outreach strategy, amplifying the mandate of InBC to generate and sustain quality connections to impact-aligned funds, ventures and ecosystem partners, and ultimately work to identify quality and diverse investment opportunities.

We are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of, and a network in, the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem in B.C, and across Canada, and who is ready to hit the ground running.

This is a "strategic and roll up your sleeves" position combining high-level strategic thinking with hands-on, practical execution.

**Key Job Accountabilities**
- **Strategic Partnerships **_
- Support the positioning of InBC in the marketplace as a strong partner and respected investor through the identification, development and management of strategic partnerships to drive strong deal flow.
- Proactively and collaboratively develop and implement a strategic engagement plan aligned with the goals of the organizational 3-year strategic plan (2023-2026).
- Proactively identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities, including the assessment of inbound opportunities, aligned with our objectives.
- Manage and track a network of partners across the provincial ecosystem including government agencies such as BDC, PacifiCan and Innovate BC, private sector funding partners and entrepreneurial support organizations (including impact-focused Angel investors, venture funds, accelerators and incubators) to support the growth and success of more B.C. based companies and funds.
- Support Investment team with market intelligence and relationships to generate leads and reach high potential companies and funds, and to identify and fill potential gaps to ensure a diverse funnel of opportunities, including proactively engaging with organization’s supporting InBCs investment objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- **Ecosystem and Market Outreach **_
- Actively identify and manage outreach opportunities, including events and partnerships, through which to communicate and showcase the mandate of InBC, and enhance InBC’s position within the innovation and impact investing ecosystem, with a proactive focus on underrepresented communities to drive quality deal flow.
- Represent InBC and communicate its unique mandate in the greater ecosystem, as an ambassador speaker and discussion participant to promote its’ mission and objectives.
- Work closely with the Marketing Communications Specialist to ensure strong and effective communication of objectives and to continually raise awareness of InBC, our team and our work.
- Provide support for existing partnerships and participate as InBC’s representative on committees and working groups.
- Support event activation to ensure linkage to strategic objectives including regional opportunities, as required.
