Oshawa, Canada Umbrella Central Daycare Services Full time

**Position**:Resource Staff - Assistant Teacher - supporting children one on one with behavioral or medical needs

**Courtice - **Worden Public School -7:30am - 9:00am **Oshawa - **Sunset Heights Public School - 2:00pm - 6:00pm

**Status**:Part Time / Monday to Friday - Split Shift

Position to start September 5, 2023

**Hourly Rate: $18.45 per hour plus $2/hour in a Provincial Wage Enhancement grant for regular hours worked.**
- Ensure the safety and well being of children with high needs
- Early childhood educator assistants perform some or all of the following duties:

- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Consultation to programs regarding ideas to facilitate the success of all children in the program.
- Other duties as required by the Director of the centre
- Experience with exceptionalities is an asset (ie: autism spectrum disorder, behaviours)
- Before and After School Program setting (September-June) Potential for more hours during the summer months, school holidays and breaks.

**Salary**: $15.50-$29.56 per hour
