- The Bailey Lab and Ocean Nexus Program at Dalhousie University work on research and outreach around ocean equity. **Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Manager will provide financial and project management, research coordination, and support project development.. The Research Manager will work closely with the Principle Investigator and team to support excellent scholarship, strong stakeholder engagement, and high-quality results.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support data access, research ethics, and grant submissions.
- Complete HR related administrative tasks for the Bailey Lab and Nexus including hiring staff and students, payroll set up, expense reimbursements, and amendments, in alignment with Dalhousie policies and guidelines.
- Establish and oversee financial documents (including monthly reconciliations), project, and information management systems to support projects and team workflow.
- Manage project data, documents, and team communication.
- Coordinate the implementation of research projects as per project work plans and timelines.

**Note**
The successful applicant may work in-person on campus, primarily remotely, or perform a hybrid of the two as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in marine management, environmental studies, marine biology, or other related field, with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in project management (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role and/or management effectiveness.
- Must be able to take initiative, act resourcefully, and think creatively to solve complex problems.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, including ability to manage records respecting the privacy and confidentiality of research participants.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly for diverse audiences.
