The Highwood Centre ( a registered charity) is an event venue located in High River, Alberta. We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper who has a strong understanding of QuickBooks and has a meticulous work ethic. This is a casual position 6 to 18 hours per month.

**Position**:Bookkeeper

**Position Overview**

Responsible for recording day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process into the accounting system. This includes purchases, expenses, sales revenues, invoices, and payments.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Administration**
- Answer incoming calls to the Highwood Centre providing information, routing calls to appropriate individuals, taking clear concise messages _when required._
- Assists with maintaining office filing system, ensures accuracy of filing.
- Records, reconciles, and audits accounting data.
- Prepare cheques and disperse payments to vendors.
- Post transactions involving cash receipts, disbursements and/or accounts payable and receiving into ledger accounts.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Properly code expenses to the correct GL.
- Accurately reconcile and post revenues for the correct time period to the appropriate GL.
- Monitors account receivables and assists with outstanding account notification.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

**Customer Relations and Events**
- Acts as a host to all guests who enter the Centre by providing a warm, inviting, and knowledgeable welcome while providing direction and assistance when required
- Demonstrates a friendly, personalized professional demeanor when answering phone inquiries and in person.

**Experience & Qualifications**

High School diploma required.

Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping preferred.

Data entry skills.

Knowledge of Quickbooks online considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask, work under pressure and have a high attention to detail and accuracy.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
