Opportunity

As the Chief of Staff (CoS) at AIMCo, you'll be a dynamic leader and strategic confidante to our CEO. Your role will be instrumental in converting high level strategies into actionable, results-oriented plans, and ensuring the effective implementation of our organization’s core objectives.

Your role will demand both strategic acumen and a systems-thinking approach. You'll be the architect of big-picture insights, while also maintaining a hands-on approach to our daily operations. As the CoS, you'll be the central pillar in aligning resources, orchestrating cross-functional initiatives, and amplifying overall organizational efficiency.

You'll be partnering with a diverse array of stakeholders, necessitating stellar presentation, facilitation, and communication skills. Your role will be the cornerstone of establishing and nurturing vital relationships across all layers of our organization.
- Responsibilities:
- Advise the CEO: Provides strategic advice to the CEO, identifying opportunities and challenges across the organization and recommending high-impact solutions.-
- Manage Operations: Maintains a practical, hands-on approach to oversee and influence day-to-day operational activities; managing decision-making, timelines, resources, and progress assessment, making course adjustments when necessary. Utilizes a systems thinking approach to enhance processes and optimize performance.-
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Enables strategic initiatives and instills data-driven rigor in decision-making processes.-
- Liaison: Synchronizes initiatives and communication across AIMCo departments. Represent the CEO in engagements and maintain relationships with key partners.-
- Special Projects: leads special projects critical to AIMCo’s success and supports ongoing Business Transformation activities.-
- Manage Communications: Assists in effective communication strategies, agenda management and Investment Committee discussions. Prepares and refines presentations, reports, and briefing materials for the CEO, board of directors and other stakeholders. Facilitates executive team meetings, tracks key decisions, and ensures follow-through on critical action items.-
- Risk Management & Compliance: Works with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management teams to proactively address regulatory and operational risks.-
- Cross-Functional Coaching & Team Development: Enhances the CEO's team management by boosting communication, fostering unity, and advocating a constructive team environment, focusing on collective dynamics and purpose.-
- A degree in management, finance or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA and/or CFA an asset.-
- 10+ years’ experience in the investment or financial industry, advising/working with large global organizations, with an understanding of AIMCO’s departmental functions and key stakeholders.-
- Experience or strong potential in a strategic role with demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence various levels of leadership (internal and external stakeholders) within a complex and evolving environment with organizational and political sensitivity.-
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others.- Note: This role will close at 11:59 MST on Dec. 6th, 2024
