Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Energy System Engineering Position Overview: This role offers opportunities for both Lecturer (Level B) and Senior Lecturer (Level C) positions within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at UNSW. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will develop scholarly research and contribute to teaching and service missions. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research program and strengthen industry partnerships in thermo‑mechanical engineering, energy generation, and storage systems. We seek a candidate with a proven research background and strong educational experience in thermo‑mechanical engineering, focusing on renewable energy, energy storage technologies, and the reliability and durability of energy systems. Skills & Experience Lecturer (Level B) PhD in an area of direct relevance (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems) Core capability in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, renewable energy and storage technologies, and system reliability Experience translating research results into practical outcomes Capability in developing alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery High‑level communication skills and effective networking with diverse students and staff Team‑work, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and relationship building Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training Implementation of UNSW health and safety policies and procedures Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in an area of direct relevance (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems) Core capability in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, renewable energy and storage technologies (e.g., battery systems), and system reliability Extensive experience translating research results into practical outcomes Success in attracting research funding from government and/or industry Capability in developing alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery Excellent communication skills and effective networking with diverse students and staff Experience supervising research students Team‑work, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and relationship building Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training Understanding of UNSW values, policies, and a commitment to health & safety training Additional details about the specific responsibilities for this position can be found in the position description.
