As a Lecturer (Level B) you will develop scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally, contributing to the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) you will establish an internationally recognised research program, maintain and strengthen industry partnerships, and foster collaborations that drive impactful research and innovative advancements in thermomechanical engineering. We are seeking a candidate with a proven research background and strong educational experience in robotics engineering and energy systems. Candidates should have experimental expertise in medical robotics, assistive technologies such as exoskeletons, robotic manufacturing, service robots, autonomous systems including drones, vehicles, and maritime vessels. Skills & Experience – Lecturer (Level B) PhD in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering (or a relevant field) Demonstrated ability and track record in medical robotics, robotics for surgery, assistive technologies such as exoskeletons and service robots, and/or autonomous systems operating across air, ground, and water environments Proven experience in translating research results into practical outcomes Demonstrated capacity for alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery High‑level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures Skills & Experience – Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering (or a relevant field) Demonstrated ability and track record in medical robotics, robotics for surgery, assistive technologies such as exoskeletons and service robots, and/or autonomous systems operating across air, ground, and water environments Extensive experience in translating research results into practical outcomes Demonstrated success in attracting research funding from governmental and/or industrial sectors Demonstrated capacity for alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery Excellent communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff Experience supervising research students Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships Willingness to undertake required compliance and supervisor training Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures Application If you are interested in an academic career focused on independent research and excellent teaching, please click “Apply” and submit your CV, Cover Letter and systematic responses to the Skills & Experience.
