Reporting to the Regional Vice President, you play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, forging strong client relationships with existing customers, and positioning the company as a trusted partner in delivering innovative and sustainable construction solutions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Operations and Regional Leadership to continue propelling Pomerleau forward. What You Will Do Market Expansion: Leading efforts to enter new markets and sectors, leveraging industry insights and competitive analysis. Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of the core markets and how to position Pomerleau’s complete suite of services to best help clients achieve their goals. Participate in Business Development meetings, presenting market data and opportunities for “Go/No Go” decisions. Position Pomerleau to be the contractor of choice by gathering information about upcoming opportunities from prospective clients and building a robust pipeline of opportunities to fit the strategic plan. Client Engagement: Building and nurturing long‑term relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, and government agencies. Develop a network of contacts and key customer relationships within the assigned region and market segments. Prospects for new clients, leveraging web‑based services, government publications, news articles, networking at industry events, cold calling, etc. Strategic Partnerships: Identifying and negotiating partnerships that enhance service offerings and create mutual value. Develop key account strategies that support the achievement of the strategic business plan. Formulate and review “Win” strategies with operations to improve success rate, profitability, and market position. Revenue Growth: Developing and executing business strategies that drive profitability and align with corporate goals. Team Leadership: Collaborating with cross‑functional teams including estimating, project management, and operations to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction. Work closely with Operations and Regional Leadership to convert prospects into opportunities by facilitating the completion and submitting pre‑qualifications. Systems Management: Enter and maintain accurate sales information within Salesforce to support the sales funnel for new business. Participate in the Proposal Submission, helping to develop and articulate a win strategy to prospective clients. Manage Business Development processes as defined in the organization. This role could be for you if you have Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a related field in construction management, architecture, engineering or business is required; 10+ years’ experience working in the construction industry; 5+ years’ experience in Business Development; Proven ability to establish profitable relationships with decision‑makers at companies and organizations; Proven experience with the pre‑construction process; Firm understanding of the risk and rewards related to all construction procurement models (CCDC) in both public and private sphere; Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Secret Clearance; The ability to build and maintain strong relationships will key stakeholders; Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment to achieve a desired outcome; Uphold a well‑known personal brand with private and public clients, local consultants, and a respected reputation in the construction industry; Available to organize and engage in industry events that may be scheduled beyond typical working hours. Proactive at maintaining relationships with potential future clients; Possess a strong network of local clients and consultants, complemented by ongoing participation in industry committees and professional associations.
